What is Camp Jack Hazard?
In the heart of the Sierra Nevada, at a place where granite masses and thick conifer forests preside on the mountain face, lies Camp Jack Hazard. One mile above The Dardanelles at 6,000 feet in elevation, CJH couldn’t be in a more perfect location to serve as a high sierra summer camp adventure! The real beauty of camp, however, lies in the experienced staff and hopeful campers. For those who have experienced it, CJH creates memories, stories, lifelong friends, teamwork, wilderness awareness, and the urge to do it all over again next year.
Camp Jack Hazard offers many of the traditional camp experiences including campfires, skits, songs, games, theme days and camp dances. In addition, CJH offers unique Adventure, Arts and Crafts, High and Low Challange Course, and Nature programs.

Core Values at CJH
At CJH we love the outdoors. Along with this love comes deep respect and concern for the environment and the future. We are committed to hanging the way we run our day-to-day program so it is practical and sensible for all facets of life.
Our goal at CJH is to reduce the impact we have on nature while increasing the positive impact we have on children, communities and the environment. We implement these goals through the four core values of the YMCA of Honesty, Respect, Responability and Caring.
Camp Jack Hazard, with special use permit from the U.S. Forest Service, operates all of its programs and activities without discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation and family status.
